Nell was the first person I knew personally who wrote a book, about the reality of life in a circus troupe. The only person I know who ran away to join the circus, and then, of course, she created her very own circus in 2000 - Giffords - a magical village green circus that tours England through the summer months. I've caught almost every season, despite living in California.
