I made a mistake gluing a mirror into the back of a box. There was a gap along the bottom of the mirror, making it unusable for its original purpose. So I glued down some quite beautiful grass I hadn't known what to do with, to cover it. And then, it became a magical space, reflecting the rain sparkling in the sun outside (yes it does sometimes rain in London).

Fit for a fairy!, so I made her and placed gently in. Into her raised hand I popped a single piece of glitter. On the mirror I wrote the word "Believe".

And now she lives in my studio so everyday I can see myself, the fairy, the sparkly speck of glitter, the sun, the rain, home, art, even the trace of my mistake, and remember to believe in it all.
