Hello all and sundry,
Usually I reserve my big love and effort for you guys my loyal newsletter tribe, BUT I just spent a hella long time putting an Instagram post together. I’ve got quite a lot of new followers and wanted to introduce newbies to my custom work.
Anyway I really like the graphics and it was a sweet reminder to myself of a a few (a tiny fraction!) of the Glass Cathedrals I’ve made for you guys over the years. So, here’s a recap for the OGs.
I make art – miniature worlds in boxes called Glass Cathedrals – about many things. Things that strike me as beautiful, poetic or crazy about being a little human on a big planet, films I love, books, political messages, portraits of my heroes, I’ve even had a circus-themed solo art exhibition at Anthropologie.
But what means the most to me, and motivates me every day, is making art inspired by what is most precious to OTHER people. That may sound a bit odd for an artist, but so much of my joy in creation, is to manifest something of significance to another person.
Over the years I’ve made thousands of artworks that capture people, events, places, memories, dreams. I get the tiny figures to resemble real people doing what they love, with the people they love, in the places they love. What’s not to love? :)))
