Order FAQ

Order FAQ

Each Glass Cathedral is handmade and individually titled, signed and dated.
I ship worldwide, and they come packed in a lovely Glass Cathedrals kraft gift box.

What’s the difference between Shop and Commissioned Glass Cathedrals?

Shop artworks are open-edition. Though each is handmade to order, multiple of the same design can be made.
Prices start at £420 and the lead time to delivery is 2-6 weeks.

Custom Commissions are one-of-a kind, with the tiny figures resembling real people (and animals!) in the setting of your choice.  They often celebrate special occasions, travels and relationships.
Prices start at £790 and the lead time to delivery is 8-10 weeks.

What sizes do Glass Cathedrals come in?

How much is shipping?

Prices are for any number of Glass Cathedrals to one address.
United Kingdom + Ireland: £25
Europe/North America: £75
Rest of World: £155
There may be customs (payable by customer) for art shipped outside of the UK and US.

Is any personalisation of Shop designs possible?

For many Shop designs, personalisation (of the figures you see in the Shop photos) is possible where specified on the artwork description, and is included in the price. For example, in Me without You below the figures’ hair and skin colour is personalisable.

Can I add extra custom elements to Shop designs?

For some designs you can switch in and/or add, custom figures or backgrounds. Please contact me via Contact form to discuss.

Can I add a personal message on the artwork?

Yes, I can handwrite a short personal message on the side signature plate if you request it.

What are Glass Cathedrals made of?

The miniature scenes are housed in white-painted wooden boxes, fronted by glass.
The model-railway figurines are painted, and at times augmented with clay, paper, and other ephemera such as specks of glitter and tiny sequins. The interiors are often layered with glitter.
Because each order is handmade, they may vary slightly from photos.

How do I display and care for my Glass Cathedral?

Glass Cathedrals have a french cleat built into the top back of the frame.
They hang on a nail or French cleat (provided) on the wall, or can sit on a shelf.
They should be displayed away from direct sunlight and avoid humid conditions eg. bathrooms.
Glass can be taken out and cleaned with normal glass cleaner.
